Different Shade of Green Job Openings


Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County seeks a training team for Different Shade of Green, a program providing training for military veterans in workforce preparedness for the local green economy. These positions are funded by the New York State Department of Labor through American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds and are all benefits-eligible during the one-year term of appointment.

Community Educator – Responsible for delivering a training program focused on production agriculture and renewable and green energy technologies. Bachelor’s degree required with one year of work-related experience. Education or experience in food systems, renewable energy, and green technologies desired with demonstrated experience in working with adult learners. Veterans Coordinator – Responsible for outreach, implementation, coordination, and evaluation of field placement experience for military veterans. Familiarity with food security and emergency preparedness desired, together with an Associate’s degree with 2 years experience or high school diploma and 4 years relevant experience. Program Assistant – Assist program educators with lesson preparation, program organization and delivery. Organize field trips; develop project database; assist with report writing and program promotion. Associate’s degree in related field plus one year volunteer experience or High School diploma with two years experience. Accounts Representative – Assist project managers with supply procurement, inventory management, project bidding, and accounting processes. Process vouchers for payment and coordinate payroll. High school diploma and five years experience or Associate’s degree in accounting and three years work experience in an electronic accounts management environment.
