Cornell University Cooperative Extension of Onondaga County (CCE Onondaga) is an educational organization that has shared research knowledge from Cornell University with the residents of Onondaga County since 1913.  CCE Onondaga is part of the national system for Land Grant Universities and the statewide system of Cooperative Extension Associations.  In Onondaga County, CCE provides educational programs in the areas of Food, Renewable Energy, and the Environment (FREE), Workforce and Youth Development, and Community Support.

Currently, CCE Onondaga provides green job training in urban forestry, storm water management systems and urban agriculture; individual farm planning and business management training for new farm start ups; technical assistance to municipalities on sustainable land use practices, and, community development projects, including the Fabius Energy Steering Committee (FESC), which is focused on renewable energy technologies such as methane digestion on farms, and large and small-scale wind and biomass production.
