Learn how to prune, plant, maintain and identify our community trees!
Join other stewards in ensuring a healthy urban forest in Onondaga County.
Since 2002 CommuniTree Stewards have given thousands of volunteer hours to prune and care for over 3,700 trees and plant over 1,800 trees in our parks and neighborhoods. But we need more help. Sign up today!
Stewards learn through hands-on instruction in:
tree biology
planting
pruning
follow-up care
species identification
common tree problems
And in exchange they volunteer by signing up for planting, pruning, mulching and other projects throughout the year.
Why volunteer?
Trees in developed environments need extra care to survive and thrive
Trees provide many health, community, economic and environmental benefits
Volunteering has a meaningful and positive impact on your community
